I made abig mistake in updating real player and doingn an express install. So
i uninstalled on add remove.
Now every time Istart up iget an annoying nmessage tellimg me I dont have
real player and asking me if i want to redownload.
I know there are entrys in the registry for real player. How can i stop the
message on start up?

Install again from Real.com.

If you do not want it then uninstall it using the real player uninstaller

Installed again and used the real uninstaller but still getting invitation to
instal real -player every time Istart up.I cant even sign on to my ISP until
I have replied"NO" to the request to instal.

Search for and delete all "realplayer" entries in the registry. That's what
I had to do in order to finally get rid of the whole thing.

Tom Pepper Willett, never previously manually edited or deleted from the
registry. Can it do any harm if I delete RealPlayer entries?

There is a risk. A better approach would be to roll back to
a restore point before Real Player was installed--if there
is one, of course.

If you remove all instances to the Real Player in the Registry there should be no harm. You have a line in there that is causing this behavior. Do a search a couple of times in there to find the line(s). There could be more than one.

Cheers Opinicus. unfortunately i installed it months ago, cant even remeber
when.
I suppose I'll just have to suffer the insufferable interference from Real
Player.
