what sort of flash drive do i need to use readyboost, because i know Windows
can only use fast flash memory to speed up your computer. what does the speed
of the flash drive have to be.

Marko, i wouldn't get too excited about this at present. I use USB 2 flash
memory and all 3 of my flash drives will not work with Vista. Three builds
ago they worked perfectly, but not on the current RC1 build.

I too have found incompatiblity issues with Readyboost in RC1. I had a 2 yr.
old flash drive (512mb) that worked with it and a 1GB 4 month old on that
doesn't but should. I've also found a bug with leaving the readyboost drive
in when the PC is shut down or restarted that causes me to have to re-format
it nearly every time.

My recently purchased 1GB flash drive doesn't work either. I have left the
flash drive in the USB port and shutdown. On rebooting the flash drive has
been okay - no need to format. However, i haven't tried leaving the flash
drive in on RC1. I'll have to give it a try and see wht happens.

Yeah, I tried it again last night and put the system into "hibernate" and
when I came out of hibernation this morning, same thing. Not a big deal
really, I just need to remember to remove the drive that the Readyboos cache
is on before powering down but hopefully there won't be this issue in the
final release since it really can be annoying.
