Reading Value from Previous Record

I would like a numeric field contained within a form to read the value of
the same field in the previous record and increment it by .1'

How can I achieve this?

Asked and answered alll the time.

There have been about 5 posts in the last week that cover how to increment a
field by looking at the highest value and addind 1 to it.

Do some searches on increment and autonumber. This is not an actual
autonumber, but many people use that term when asking for help.
