Reading data from form field

I am trying to read data from form fields in MS Word 2003. Some of the data
is text and the other are just check boxes. I was looking at using Perl to
read the data. The data information is configuration information that will be
placed in a text file in Hex format in order to flash a device.
 
Are you using the "Save data only for forms" option in Tools | Options |
Save?
