Reading data from exccel file located at sharepoint

Hi,

I am a newbie for excel and VBA. I need to read data from an excel file which is present at my sharepoint into some in memory data structure. I need a very performing code as performance is very critical in my problem.
As I am new to this I am not getting where to start from ( which classes are available in excel to use).

Please help and in case of further questions kindly let me know.
