Read-Only Problems

I design my label files and other documents without making them "Read Only". However, often the documents become "Read Only"

1) How does that happen
2) How can I get rid of that annoying feature so that I may re-save my document using its original name

I'd appreciate some help here. Thanks!

Couple of thoughts:

1) Documents restored from CD are always read-only.

2) There's a Word virus that does this.

The quick fix is to right-click the file (or folder) in Windows Explorer,
select properties, and clear the Read-Only checkbox.

Any documents saved to CD become read-only automatically. Copy them to the
hard drive, turn off Read-Only (maybe via right-click, then properties?),
edit them, then *copy* them back to the CD.
