Does anyone know how to convert read only files?

You should be able to go File | Save As and rename the file. When you save
the file with its new name, I believe it will be a regular file (not read
only).

I hope that helps.

Best regards,

You can go to *Windows Explorer* and navigate to the workbook.
Right click on it and choose "Properties" and change it in that window.

I can't get rid of "Read only" files. I rename them and then the new one becomes "Read Only." I tried going to propertiies, but the place where I can take off the "Read only" does not let me click there

If they are located on a network drive that you don't have write permission,
you'll have to copy them to a different location. If they're still marked
readonly, try opening windows explorer and rightclicking, then changing that
property.

(This applies to files on CDROMs, too.)
