Read only back end after syncronising

Hi,

Each week I syncronise the back end at site 1 with the backend at site 2 -
this is done overnignt as the VPN connection is very slow.

This morning the backend at site 2 has come up as read only and nothing can
be edited. I have checked the database properties to see if the read only is
check and it is fine. No other users have the back end open and I have no
icon to show that the backend is open or locked.

All users have a front end on their PC's and all have the sharing option
ticked in the advanced tab in Tools-Options.

We are running Access 2002 / 2003 (dependant on machine)

Have you checked the "File" properties as opposed the the database
properties. Also how about the directory properties?

Sorry, but that was the extent of my experience. Hopefully someone else
will have a suggestion. I seem to recall someone having a like problem and
one of our regulars had a reference from MS for them.

I am truly sorry you were never able to learn how to use MS Access.
