How do I clear the read only attribute so I can copy to a
CD?
Even if the problem were that attribute and it's not, it wouldn't prevent
you from copying a file to a CD.

Are you receiving an error message, if yes, what's the error message? Are
you trying to drag and drop a file to a CD? If yes, do you have any
software installed for this purpose? If no, XP's native burning software
cannot handle drag and drop. For that you need packet writing software such
as the Direct CD component of Easy CD Creator (Note, you must have a version
compatible with XP) or Nero's InCD.

A little more information from you might help us help you.
