"read only attribute"

I figured out that it was the TEMP/TMP variables that were
causing problems. By changing them to refer only to
C:/Temp or C:/Tmp, I was able to install.

I need a clear explanation for the "read only" "hidden" "archive"
when does it become archive instead of read only and I have unchecked all hidden as I am the sole user of my machine and I want to see what is in the entire system. As I am the sole user on this account why do I have to have "default user" and the "all users" within the Documents and Settings folder?
I want all files and folders to be used by anyone who might happen to use my computer. I have no private matters on the computer.
I have a firewall/Zone Alarm.
thanks
