Read messages when not connected to VPN

I'm using Outlook 2003. I receive and send email when connected to my company
VPN and their exchange server. When I'm not connected to the VPN I can't read
my messages. How can I change this, would like to read messages when offline.

Basically, you will need to have "cached Exchange mode" enabled. You can read

Assuming your company allows cached Exchange mode, you will need to go into
the account settings for your Exchange account and check the option to enable
cached mode. This will basically store a copy of your mailbox on your local
computer.
