Reactivation and Time Change

This morning was the changeover to Daylight Savings Time. When I turned off
my monitor before going to bed everything was fine. When I turned it on again
this morning, there was a message that there had been a change to VISTA and I
needed to activate it (or in this case, reactivate it). I wondered if this
was a problem that others encountered or was my system unique!

I had my computer on over night and had no such problem. No warning - no
message - no nothing.

The time change just happened.

I just booted my Vista system, after having it off over night, and I did not
receive such a message. So, while your situation may not be unique, it's
certainly not universal.

Yep, you've found an obvious attempt by MS to annoy the hell out of you and
possibly make more money by requiring you to buy a new copy of Vista after
every time change. Sneaky, I say!

Once again, the ineffective activation program inconveniences a paying
customer and does nothing to stop piracy. When will MS ever learn?

probably not unique, or at least not surprising

in XP you had to make some serious hardware changes before having to
reactivate, such as multiple device upgrades or a mobo swap.

in Vista some are already reporting that just running and downloading
Windows Updates will trigger the need to reactivate

iow, sounds about right
