Reactivate Windows XP

K

Kevin

I recently replaced the video card in my computer and
when I turned it back on I got a screen showing: Windows
Product Activation. Since windows was first activated
the hardware has changed significantly. Due to these
changes windows must be reactived within 3 days. Do you
want to reactivate? Yes or NO. I click on Yes and Get a
screen with Windows Product Activation in the heading but
nothing else. If I click no then I can get into my
computer and everything seems to run normal. But this
message shows up everytime I restart. How do I
reactivate? I upgraded the software to Windows xp from
windows 98 and I have the CD. Any help would be
appreciated.

Hi Kevin,

Copy/paste the below into a start/run prompt and click "ok":

%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /A

AS I recall when that happened to me there was an 800 number I could call. I
did and a new activation number was given to me.
