Micro Staff WinASPI

I googled it and came up with the following pretty quickly; I guess it comes
with the Image Mixer software.

I just figured out how to do this myself. I was using SONIC DVD writing
software that came with the Sony DVD +- R, RW drive and loved it. The Image
Mixer sw has a driver that is called MicroStaff WINASPI. It should show up
in your programs tree. This causes havoc with just about any other writing
sw. If you attached your DVD Camcorder before installing the ImageMixer
software that is the reason you are having trouble.

In order to remedy this, you need to uninstall your MicroStaff WINASPI (it
has an uninstaller) first. Make sure your camcorder is not attached during
any of this !!! Step 2. Re-install any software that you use to write DVDs.
Step 3. Re-install the ImageMixer software using the default options when
prompted.
Step 4. Then (and only then) connect your Sony DVD Camcorder making sure it
is in the "playback" mode on the dial. This should do the trick.

I can tell by your reply to the person who wanted to know re MicroStaff
WINASPI that you know what you're talking about. I do NOT know what I
am talking about. That is, I am a grandmother who began using online
when there were things called "dumb terminals". I've come a long way;
call myself fairly pc literate, but this site is too complicated for
me! And I'll proably never use it again. Can you please tell me very
slowly and plainly why I, too, have WINASPI in my program files. I
don't use a camcorder or any other camera. I've watched a movie on DVD
a few times & quit when the image kept freezing. Questions: What does
WINASPI do and do I need it? Also, I did not see any "uninstall but can
use ADD/REMOVE.

Thanx so much if you will take the time to help.

Grandma
