*Re-Post* Accounting Reports

The sorting and grouping is not a problem, the gl is setup
to easily accomplish that. Also, the debits and credits
are handled correctly. The problem I am having, and I did
not make that clear, sorry; is that I am having problems
performing some sub-totals . . . let me try to clearify
(Operating Cash Flow, Net Cash Flow and Cash).

Accounts are sorted (and grouped) by Net Income,
Operations, Investing, Financing and Cash.
-Net Income (no detail accounts, sum of net income)
-Operations (detail accounts, with sum of operations)
-Operating Cash Flow (Net Income + Operations) . . .more a
calculation than a grouping.
-Investing (detail accounts, with sum of investing)
-Financing (detail accounts, with sum of financing)
-Net Cash Flow (Operating Cash Flow + Investing +
Financing)

-Cash at Beginning of period
-Net Cash Flow
-Cash at End of period

Hope this clarifys.

Thanks.

You don't explain what you problem is with sub totals. I assume that you've
got groups set for Operations, Investing etc. (i.e. typical cash flow) to do
a sub total in the report for each group, you need a common field for the
value of each row of data to allow summing in the group footer. If thats
not there, then your only method to do subtotals is in VBA which since you'd
hard code your field (i.e. making the report somewhat inflexible) is not
preferable.

If you explain more why you can't sub total, then you might get more design
suggestions.
