Re-linking secured tables.

Barry

Hello,

I have a feeling this question gets answered a lot, but
here goes...

I secured a database both fe and be. A user in the
Admins group can open and use it just fine. But a user
assigned to a customized work group can't open most
anything. Could someone tell me what I've done wrong?
Thanks very much to anyone who replies.

We just apply the workgroup security to the front-end
databases, not the back-end data files.

I hope this helps.

Joan,

To clarify my previous reply: The tables are linked and
everything works fine when an user in the Admins group
logs on. But if a user in any other group logs on, the
custom error message appears saying the tables aren't
linked properly - even though they are for Admins user.
But the non-Admins group user cannot relink the tables.
Hope that clears up what I was trying to convey earlier.
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi,

I found my problem. I had given one of my custom groups
permission to open the tables in the back-end database,
but not the database itself. Yikes! Sorry to have
wasted your time, but thanks, Diane and Joan, for your
replies.
