Re-installing XP Pro on a 0 raid array

I'm trying to reinstall XP pro by booting from my CD but setup can't find my
drives even though I added the proper Silicon Image 3112 raid driver with the
F6 option for 3rd party drivers. When I get to the screen asking whether I
want to install XP on an exsisting partition, create a partition or delete a
partion there is only a message saying it was not able to find any disk
drives.

I can't figure where I'm going wrong or if there is something else amist.
Sometimes a blue error "windows setup has exited" screen comes up as an error
message with some Technical Info I don't understand but can relay to who ever
if they think they can use it. I can provide any info on my computer hardware
wise and configuration if needed too. Though I originally put together this
computer and installed XP on this raid 0 array some might say that I know
enough about computers to be dangerous. My y knowledge comes without any
schooling... just magazines, trial and error. Any help would be appreciated.

Do we take it that the PC has a problem and you are trying a reinstall?

If so maybe one of the hd's has failed, or the sata controler/mobo

Perhaps you need to enter the raid bios/setup to either break/delete or
setup the raid, prior to the clean install.
What does your mob manual say? - it varies by controler.

In the past I have simply booted from the CD and entered setup, put my 3rd
party driver in and Windows setup sees my two partitions and free space and I
simply pick from the list which partition to delete and re-create for Windows
to install on. They are 2 SATA 160GIG WD drives with 2 80Gig partitions and
160Gigs of free unformatted space totaling 360. I've done it before a long
while ago. I don't rememder any other steps to do and documentation is
scarce. I'm using a Gigabyte GA-8KNXP Rev.2 motherboard.

By the way... Thanks for your input...

What was the BSOD error msg you mentioned earlier?

You stated it was raid 0, striping.
If you truly wish to start afresh, I would enter the raid bios/setup utility
and delete the raid set
To enter the raid bios, on system boot you press ctrl+S or F4
Then create a new raid set.
