Re-installation of XP Pro

Help please - trying to re-install XP due to major hang ups etc

Installation goes so far including Installing Devices - when it gets to
Installing Network it stops - no matter how long it is left - even 12 hours!

Tried to restart and it resumes set up ...just to get stuck again

Please help...starting to get desparate!

Probably a hardware issue, possibly the network adaptor. Is it an
onboard network adaptor or a card? Try disbling it in BIOS if onboard or
removing it if a card, then redo the installation and add it later. Also
could be a RAM problem. Have you tested the RAM?
