Re-Installation of Excel 1997

I purchased an upgrade edition of Excel 97 (back in 1998)
as I was an existing user of Lotus 123 at the time.

I have now (six years later), purchased a new computer
however cannot re-install Excel 97 as my Lotus 123
software is long gone (Excel 97 is looking for "eligible
software" on system to complete the Excel installation).

Any ideas what I can do!!!!!!

I believe you will now have to purchase a full version of XL97 (on EBay or
other source), as MS no longer supports XL97 nor recognizes it for upgrades
from competing products.

Alternatively, you could purchased a full NEWER version either new or from a
source as suggested above. The reason is that even should you install XL97,
MS would not allow it as a qualifying product for upgrade for later
versions.

There may be other, better suggestions offered for your consideration if you
check back here.
