Hi,
I want to do a re-install from scratch of my XP Pro insatllation.
I have an MSDN disc with it on from my subscription, but it is on a DVD,
with many other builds.
I remember when building this PC, I just put the DVD in the drive and booted
(after setting CD as part of the boot list), and it worked fine, but this
time (I have a newer CD/DVD drive) it skips the DVD and goes straight into
normal windows startup.
Is there something I else need to set up in order for this to work?
I have an old win95 boot disk which contains the basic DOS info. From here I
can set up a drive and mount the DVD, browse to the english/xp/pro
directory, but when I type "setup", I get the "This program cannot run in
dos" message. Argh!
Please, I need some help here, my system is screwed and I need to re-build.
