Re-install Vista Ultimate?

Ken

I think I have screwed up my Vista Ultimate registry since the Control Panel
and Start Button/Control Panel do not act correctly. I have posted the
problem in detail in the "Vista.General" newsgroup but have not had any
responses. So... my next question is can I re-install Vista Ultimate
without having to re-install all the other applications? Also, I have a
dual boot system and want to get rid of XP and re-install Vista to the C
partition - can I re-install Vista Ultimate to C (it's currently in the F
partition) without having to re-install all the other applications? Now
that Microsoft has so many hooks and controls on valid installations, I
really don't want to get into the "new key" issues for Vista and Office etc.
if I can avoid it. Just one more piece of information - the Vista Ultimate
DVD is an OEM version. I'm re-installing on the original hardware if that
makes any difference. Thanks in advance.

You are looking at a clean install really. There is no need to get new keys
as long as the ones you have are valid.

At worst, you will have to do a telephone activation of Vista which takes a
few minutes only..
