Re-Install Problems

I have replaced the Motherboard on my computer and am
attempting to reinstall XP. When it begons to copy files
at about 18% I get repeated messages cannot copy file from
CD Rom. Some file s will copy when I hit Enter some will
not and the only way to proceed with the installation is
to proceed without copying the file. Finally the
installation crashes. There has got to be a better way to
verify use. I have otwo machines each with a dedicated
copy of XP. I can't see going through this every time you
want to change out a piece of hardware. Has anyone had
similar difficulty?
 
Hi,

I encountered a similar problem on my machine. First I thought the CD is
corrupt, but then I found that the problem was the memory. After changing it
everthing worked fine.
