I used Outlook for importing a bunch of data to then export on to
another program. Now my Outlook is full of a bunch of contacts and
info that I don't want in there. Is there a way to delete everything
in the calendar and contacts area so I can start over? Or is the
best way to uninstall Outlook. I have the contact and calendar info I
would like to keep in my handheld device that syncs with Outlook
(luckily I stopped some of the syncing when I loaded all the stuff in
I don't want), so now I can use the handheld to reload the stuff I
want back to Outlook.

Create a new PST (File>New>Outlook Data File) and make it your delivery
location. That will give you a completely fresh start. You can move stuff
from the old PST to the new, if you wish. Set your sync software options to
replace the items on the desktop system with the items on the PDA and sync.

Thanks! Will I need to take any steps to delete everything that is currently
in my desktop Outlook?

No. By creating a new PST and making it your delivery location, you'll be
starting with a completely empty message store. Your old PST will still be
available to you, however, should you wish to incorporate any of the data it
contains.

Thanks Brian. I created the new pst. I went File-Open-Outlook Data
File and selected the new pst. I still see all of the "junk" info in
my contacts and calendar.

Click File>New>Outlook Data File to create a new one. Using File>Open will
open an existing PST, not create a new one. Once you've created the new
one, make it your delivery location at the bottom left of Tools>A-mail
Accounts>Next. Stop and restart Outlook.
