Re formatting C Drive

I'm using an 80 gig hard drive right now with 30 gigs being used for system
files which is called my E Drive ( Windows picked that) and the rest being
used for storage on my C drive. I'd like to reformat my C drive but it
doesn't give me that option. I've tried Disk Management and the properties
settings from My Computer.

Any ideas?

You want to reinstall Windows?
XP stores some data on the C drive that is required for boot even if the OS
is on another drive or partition.
You should be able to boot from the XP CD and format the partition from
there before reinstalling the OS.
Once Formatted, it won't boot without a reinstall...

As 'Notme' suggests, the OS must, at minimum, partially reside on C: and you
can't reformat the drive without stepping on the OS, so it won't let you do
it from your normal boot. It you must reformat C: then plan on doing a
reinstall of the OS afterwards.
