Re-enabling XP's compressed folder functionality after uninstalling winzip

C

Good Afternoon!

I have recently received a new laptop from the company I
work for. I have become accustomed with Windows XP (Pro)
and particularly enjoyed the functionality offered by the
O/S to manage .zip files (Compressed folders)

However, the new Laptop came with Winzip installed, which,
replaced my convenient right-click and go memu's. Not to
mention the annoying registration notification for Winzip.
So, I uninstalled Winzip. (I don't want it.) QED!

However, although I was able to associate the .zip
extention with being compressed folders (allowing me to
open existing .zip files) I can not create or add password
to these as the menu items are not available. (Neither
through the File menu nor the right-click (context?) menu.

My question is, how do I get these back?

I hope you can assist, please?

Regards

One should delete or install programs on a company-owned computer
without permission. Consult with your company's system administrator
for assistance.

***CORRECTION***

One "should not" delete or install programs on a company-owned computer
without permission. Consult with your company's system administrator
for assistance.
