With 5 in A1 and 10 in A4, select all four cells then Edit>Fill>Series.

Check the "Trend" box and the "Linear" button and OK.

Not sure what "two axis(sic)" means.

Thanks Gord,
Suppose another situation where I have a matrix or table that is 10 x 10,
which would be 100 solutions depending on which x and y value one chose. If
I had maybe half those values input into the table and half were blank, can
excel interpolate what the vacant cells value should be? I could use fill,
but would have to do each vacant area separately. I would like to chose the
whole 10 x 10 area and have excel fill the vacant cells based on surrounding
values.

Hope all that make sense...
Eric
