XP HOME VERSION. No previous MS Windows Programs (new
computer) Programs MS OFFICE, Lotus and various
professional accounting programs.

Computer re-boots itself from various programs. Question,

.

Sounds like a virus infection. Recommend you do a
complete/full scan of your harddrive using your anti-
virus program - Poste Haste!!! If nothing is found, do a
repost to this newsgroup.

Since the computer is new, why not take it back to the vendor and let
them resolve the problem?

Most likely some diver; possibly RAM. You have *something* that is
crashing- and the system's 'automatically restart' is cutting in. Turn
this off: in Control Panel - System - Advanced, click Settings in the .
You may now get a Blue screen failure instead, but at least will get
some guidance as to what is happening

In particular, if it is a driver, the bottom line should indicate the
driver file involved - omething.sys

Look for it in System32\drivers, and r-click - Properties - Version
should indica\te which one it is
