RDP Protocol only uses IP? No IPX or NB suppport?

I have my main system and also another one on the same
LAN at my home. The main system uses a real IP assigned
via DHCP from my ISP, the other system is using an
private address of 192.168.1.2. I want to be able to
access the second system from my main system via Remote
Access, but I do not want to use IP as the protocol? So
can you setup Remote Access between two WinXP Pro systems
using another protocol other than TCP/IP?
