Hi,

I am using XP Pro and under accessories, communications there is no RDP
option. I don't know why, I did not build the PC.

There are a few RDPCLIP.EXE on the PC, but when I run them nothing happens.

I try reinstalling RDP from download from microsoft.com but I am told
"Remote Desktop Cannot be installed because it is already installed as
part of the operating system"

I want to use RDP to connect to my office PC but I can't :-(

Any ideas? Help appreciated.

Hi sean,

Locate this path by opening the Windows Explorer:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start
Menu\Programs\Accessories\Communications = look in the Right Pane/Window what
you see there?

To create Hyper Terminal service Right click on an empty space ( in the
right pane) and select New Folder from the drop down list and Name Hyper
Terminal .
Right click after creating and select properties, there click on ShortCut
Tab and make this chnages:

Target : [ "C:\Program Files\Windows NT\hypertrm.exe" ]

Start in: [ %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH% ]

Shortcut Key: [ None ]

Run : [ Normal Window ]

The same for Remote Desktop Connection create a folder and call it RDC and
right click it and make these changes:

Target: [ %SystemRoot%\System32\mstsc.exe ]
Start In: [ %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH% ]
Shortcut:[ None ]
Run : [ Normal Window ]
Comment: [ Connect to a computer desktop.....etc ]

Click [OK] and you can chnage the Folder Icon then Reboot and see, if they
are there you can Copy and paste or Drag and release to make present in the
Communications Selections.
Hope this what you are after.
Let us know.
Regards,
nass
