I have Intranet site that host a data for customer on the internet , this
server is inside the LAN with different range of IP, LAN IP start with
192.168.0.0 , Intranet server is 172.x.x.x,

I type the intranet site in IE explorer on Do not use proxy server for the
server for addresses beginning with :
www.abc.com , in the W2K client on my LAN

every time I try to open www.abc.com it goes to the internet and it come
backup to my network to open the site,!!!

I type the intranet site with the IP in the host file of the W2K client and
I tried to open , it work !!!

is there is a way on the DNS to redirect the Intranet site butter than
managing the host file on each work stations??

If you do not want anyone to go to www.abc.com, create that zone in your
DNS, then create the www record and give it 127.0.0.2 for the IP address.
