RDC slow logoff

Mark

I have noticed a substantial increase in the time it
takes to logoff of a remote computer. I have to leave
the session window minimized so that I can continue with
the console session. It used to be almost immediate but
now the minimized window takes about 3 minutes to fully
logoff and close. All my systems are joined to the same
domain and are either Windows XP Pro or Windows Server
2003. Any ideas why this might be happening?

I'm sorry to respond that I really don't know why this is happening--any
change to DNS on the domain?

I do know that it is perfectly fine to inititiate a shutdown, and then
minimize or disconnect from the session--either one is fine. The shutdown
will proceed either way.

You might want to look at the server logs to see whether event ID 1000's are
being posted to the application log with source userenv.

Mark,

Is this your business computers? Have you rolled out SMS 2003? There is a
known bug in the 03 advanced client that causes this slow down.
