rate limit port 445

my routers are getting hammered on port 445, I currently
have them rate limited, but I am considering diabling 445
altoghter, would their be any issues with disabling 445
and leaving 139 open, and does a system auto negotiate to
either 139 or 445.

Thanks for the reply, I guess I am more concerned with
the servers, since I am rate limiting 445, my peoplesoft
clients are complaing of ecessive slowness, I of course
could increase the limit. Any suggestions, or what are
others doing since i am sure this has to be happening
elseware.
