Raptor HD failure after using Sysoft Sandra 2005

Hi, I have a Western Digital Raptor WD740GD. Up until tonight
everything was running perfectly on WinXP. But then I decided to
install Sysoft Sandra 2005 to do some benchmarks and figure out ways
to improve my system.

During a test that analyzes my computer and makes suggestions, I got
my first Blue Screen of Death.

I could only reboot from that point. The problem is that when I did
reboot, my computer could no longer find my hard drive.

Computer Info:

AMD 3500XP
1Gb OCZ PC3500 Performance RAM
BFG 6800GT OC
MSI Neo2 Platinum Mobo
WD Raptor 74Gb (1 Month Old)
Antec TruePower 480 PSU

Case: Antec P160 ( Hard drive bays are arranged sideways in case so
that front 120mm Fan blows acroos it.)

Temp inside case at the time was 28C
Temp on HD was 34C

I hope I have supplied enough info. If you have any ideas as to what
my problem is or ways that I may troubleshoot it, I would certainly
appreciate your help.

Does the BIOS not recognize that a drive is installed or does the boot
process not find an operating system when it is starting up? Is the
drive there if you go into the BIOS setup? Can the BIOS auto-detect it?

If the drive is present in the BIOS then you probably have a bad master
boot record or boot sector. Read this carefully

for instructions on the WinXP recovery process and the FIXBOOT and
FIXMBR commands.

You might try this before you go futzing around with your master boot
record.

Thanks Rich, you were right on the money with the MBR.

Also thanks for sparing me the scolding most people get when they do
not provide adequate information.

No problem -- glad it worked out. Any idea why Sandra caused the glitch?
