I am used to using Lotus 123 and in that i could name a cell or range of
cells with a number like 101 , if i try this in Excel i get and invalid name
message come up, is it not possable to give a cell or range of cells a number
as a name ??

No, because otherwise Excel wouldn't know whether to use the name or the
number, but you can use things like underscores in names, so _101 would be
legal.

David
Thanks for that
