Random text replacement

I have a user who has been experiencing random text
replacement in Excel (also word and outlook). For no
apparant reason, a portion of the test will be replaced
with the number 1. Has anyone else encountered this and
how was this fixed?

Betty,

If it happens as the stuff is being typed, it may be the Autocorrect
feature. Do Tools - Autocorrect, and look down the right side of the list
for 1. If you find it, you can remove it.
 
If it's specific instances of text, check out Tools / Autocorrect Options
