I have been plagued by this problem on a xp pro system for two years. Its a
pc chips board sis chipset p4 processor 1 gig of ram.

the error code has changed. sometimes a blue screen sometimes not. IRQ LESS
THAN OR EQUAL COMES UP SOMETIMES. Ihave seen what looks like memory errors.
Usually it comes up with a undetermined driver conflict from the reporting
service.

I am virus protected, spyware protected, firewalled.

I have done a clean reinstall 3 or 4 times trying to solve and identify the
problem.

I have replaced, updated, and rolled back drivers, changed video cards from
the onboard chipset to an agp.

checked my ram, replaced my hard drive. tried to recreate it the problem,
but its very random.

usually it does it when the system is on, very little or nothing open and
its left to its self for a period of time. I am connected to the internet
through a satelite modem all the time. If I leave somthing working, like
streaming radio, there doesnt seem to be a problem.

just last week after a clean install it was left on all nite and rebooted a
number of times saying that the system had been powered of by hitting the
restart button....a number of times during the nite at 2 or 3 hour intervals.
It was displaying the same error when it restarted as I watched also. Of
course it was only getting to the welcome screen, and many services do not
initiate untill the log in.

I couldnt get sp2 installed and it went half way and wouldnt let me into
system restore and then would not reboot so...

I deleted the partition...

installed xp pro followed by sp 2 (with iis also*).

loaded microsoft software trying to get up and running again.

been fine for about 2 days
then crash ........error code 1000000a, parameter 1 7fdff994, parameter2
0000001c,parameter3 00000000, parameter 4 804e38e5

I had just completed an instalation of virtual server 5000 something came up
and I had to walk away from the unit. the crash occured about an hour later.
I had left the disk in the drive.

I came in and notice that I was on the welcome screen logged in examined the
error code walked away and came back in twenty min to discover another crash.
Error code 1000000a, parameter 1 ffffffc1, parameter 2 00000002, parameter 3
00000000, parameter 4 804e8169

in examining the events in the log imediately prior to the error ihave
noticed on many occassions the IMAPI CD burning COM service being called,
entering a running state and stopping. Then the error.

noticing this i examined my drive and discovered that the instalation disk
(non bootable cd) was still in the drive I removed it and have been working
for hours with no problem. Ill send this , close all my windows, disable the
sleep functions and let this system run all nite :) and see what happens. But
I know the gremlin is still in the box.

Could spybot be a cause or factor?

And can anyone point me towards the tools to read and understand the .dmp
files?

I could have bought a decent motherboard a dozen times with all the time i
have put into this, but I want to get to the bottom of it.

thanks.

Go to the Knoppix website and download and burn a bootable Knoppix (linux)
CD.
http://www.knoppix.org/

Boot from the Knoppix CD. If problem persists you've eliminated XP OS and
you have a hardware problem (power supply?).

Hi Elijah,

To determine what driver is causing the problem I need you to enable driver
verifier.
Steps:
1) Windows Key + R
2) Type in 'verifier' and hit enter
3) Make sure 'Create Standard Setting' is selected and hit next
4) Click on 'Select all drivers installed on this computer' and hit Finish
5) Reboot

There is a possibility that your computer will crash on reboot. If this
occurs hit F8 when rebooting just before the windows logo screen and select
the safe mode boot option. Follow the same steps above but on step 4 choose
'Select driver names from a list'; hit next; check the box next to any
driver where the provider is not Microsoft; hit Finish; reboot.

This will slow the performance of you computer a little while enabled but
will hopefully catch the driver causing corruption. Next time you crash
the blue screen will hopefully say something like
"DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION". If this occurs please send the
corresponding minidump (by default it is at c:\windows\Minidump ) my way.
If you have any questions or I didn't explain something well enough don't
hesitate to e-mail me back. Good Luck,

Thanks,
Your instructions are clear and what I am looking for.

I appreciate your time and help.

I the system did crash with the cd/dvd drives empty, with the same IMAPI
service being called started and stoped.

I subsequently did a sytem restore to remove the spybot installation.

I will follow up as I receive more information.

Joshua,

I have been trying to mail you the dump file for two days, but you email is
returned. I have tried three different email accounts including my online
msn.com account.
