This is a new computer or one that you just installed SP2? If it is a
new computer, then I'd suggest calling the manufacturer immediately.
If you just install SP2 on an older computer, then I'd suspect you
need a specific updated driver. I'd list all the hardware drivers and
check with each manufacturer or the vendor who sold you the computer
for SP2 updated drivers.

If you have more than one (1) "stick" of RAM, then I'd double check to
make sure the are matched and compatible. There are some freeware
programs that test RAM and will report this information to you (ie
CPU-Z).

Check if the CPS fan is working.
Check if the power supply fan is working.

This should get you started on a difficult to resolve issue. Good
luck to you.

1. Open Control Panel - System - Advanced and click on the Settings
button in the Startup and Recovery (bottom) section. In the Startup
and Recovery window click on the checkbox for "automatically restart"
to clear it. Click on Apply and OK as needed to exit.

That should put an end to the restarts. However they may be replaced
by a "Blue Screen Of Death" STOP error message. If that does happen
then the contents of the error screen, including any STOP code, all 4
parameters for the stop code, and any file or module names mentioned,
will be a direct clue as to the underlying cause of your problems.
Post that information back here if you need advice or assistance with
it.

2. Right-click on My Computer and select Manage. Click on the + sign
in front of the Event Viewer category to show the 3 sub categories.
Browse through each sub category looking for red-flagged error records
whose data and time stamp correspons to your random restarts. Double
click on an error record to see the details of that error. Post the
error record information back here if you need advice or assistance
with it.

Good luck
