Once the computer is booted and I have entered Internet
Explorer I get a random beeping noise. Especially if I
browse which I thought was cookie or popup related. I
don't think that's it. It is not a heat problem because It
happens on a cold computer ( first boot of the morning).
If I exit IE and go into Mozilla I don't get the beep any
longer. But apon exiting IE I do. Sometimes while in IE it
will beep several times and I'm not even browsing at that
moment, Just reading whats on the page. Can anyone help?
Steve

Is the 'beep' or more a 'plonk' sound? If the latter, you may have an pop-up
window stopper installed (such as in Google's toolbar). If so, depressing
the CTrl key normally allows the additional window(s) to open.

David
yea it may be more of a plonk or blurp instead of a beep.
(Boy if people from outspace could see this conversation)
And you may be on to something with the pop up thing in
google. However I'm not sure how to apply what you
suggested. At what point do I press CRTL and can I get rid
of this @$%#&'ing Blurp? Thanks for you interest. Steve

If it is a pop-up blocker then you would want to press CTRL before clicking
the link. This disables most blocking software for just the one click so
your still blocked but you can access the pop-up window your trying to get.
Another option would be to configure your pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups
from that specific website if you know they don't have any malicious pop-ups
or links to sites that have malicious pop-ups.

That explains the CRTL part but I have made sure that my
pop up software had the NO audibel box checked and besides
I uninstalled the POP UP software in my search for the
cause and with it uninstalled it still blurped or bleeped
the same. Thanks though for you interest and help. Steve
