Ran Windows Update - Can't Boot into W2k

Hi. I'm running a dual boot Win98/W2k Pro-SP4 on a p4 1.7, Geforce4 Mx440 and I recently installed several critical updates and a hefty 9mb or so Nvidia graphics driver update from Windows Update

And now, I can't boot into Windows 2000. I get an endless loop of the w2k splash screen, followed by the disk checking dialog, which checks c: (i have a 40gb partitioned into two equal C and D drives) reaches 100%, then reboots, and repeats this cycle over and over... Booting into safe mode does exactly the same thing.

I've posted a similar message in the Windows 2000/Windows Update board, to no avail. Anyone experience anything similar?

Can you boot in safemode, or using Win2K installation disk?
Personally I wouldnt use winupdate to update drivers. I believe them to be
often generic drivers. allways use hardware manu.drivers.
