Gut a question for you folks that are more knowledgable than me. I am
currently running a epox board that is dual channel memory. I have 1 stick
of 512 meg ram and a matched pair 256 each of ram in the other channel. It
is PC 3200 ram. I am thinking of buying the Asus K8V board. I wanted to put
the 1 stick of 512 in another computer and keep the dual sticks of 256 and
put in the asus board. I was thinking if I could find a 1 gig stick of
ram( just a single stick) and then use the other 2 sticks of 256megs that
are dual channel in the K8V. I know it is not a dual channel board but was
hoping it would work. That would give me a 11/2 gigs of ram.
I can't locate a single stick of ram that is a gig. It is OCZ ram and if I
could do it this way it would save me from having to buy more ram, I would
like to use what I have.
Thanks in advance

You need to be aware that an Athlon 64 only supports two memory sticks
at 400 Mhz, with three it drops to 333 Mhz. Since the memory controller
is integrated into the processor there's nothing you can do about this
limitation.
