... something that goes into it in some detail,
as to the differences between the different levels?

... something that a complete idiot like myself can follow?
(Mebbe "RAID for Dummies"?)

I'm surprised you haven't been punished yet for your heinous crime of
posting on the wrong forum yet, but time will tell and your supposed
bourgeois friends will betray you.

Do a little research of RAID on google. You'll find tons of info. I have
RAID 0 at home which is data striping for faster writing without redundancy.
At work, I've put together RAID array with striping and redundancy (4
disks). That's enough to keep your basement warm throughout the winter.

The concept sound intimidating, but it reality it's quite simple. Meaning,
if I can figure it out, anyone can.
