We Live For The One We Die For The One

You know how you have seperate Raid and PATA connectors on a mobo,
will the PATA drive slow down a raid system ? if you have a PATA drive
connected to the PATA connector ?

Like when you copy a file to or from a raid or PATA drive ?

Just like to know.

As i want to install all my games and applications on the raid, faster
load ect ect ect :)

But i still want my PATA connected to backup anything i download to my
raid drives.

Thanks.

The connectors are usually separate channels so no they shouldn't slow one
another down. There is a PCI transfer limit (133MB/s ?), but I think your
drives will max out before the PCI bus.
