I have a win2k3 domain controller with 3 discs (60 gigs). The first disk contains pretty much everything (AD, boot, and system) I'm want to implement a raid 5. but 1.) if it's possible without having errors and 2.) Is it recommended and if not why not? I know I can do a mirror but I loose so much more space on the drives.

thank

It is possible to create a RAID 5 from 3 or more disks, but as you say, you
will sacrifice the space of one of the disks. This shouldn't be a problem
for you since you will still have 40 GB to work with on that server. Unless
this sever is performing other work - that's more than enough space.

What kind of equipment are you running? Do you want to create
software-based RAID or hardware-based RAID?

Bear in mind that will lose everything that is curently on the disks when you inplement RAID5. You will therefore need to backup all your data 1st, then restore it once you have reinstalled you OS.
