Raid 1 performance with Maxtore plus 9/10 160 vs WD and IBM Scsi?

I test all with Sandra 2005, I know that is not best way to test Drives but
I have not another way.

Hear my experience (it look to me like a puzzle):

Server 1: Pentume 4 3G with 1G Mem on Intel Board SE7210TP1-E
Build in SATA RAID with 2*Raid1 WD120JD 7.2 RPM
System: W2K3

Result: 31 MB ps

Server 2:Dual Xzaon(2 CPU 3G), 2G Mem, on intel SE7320SP2
Build in SATA RAID with 2*Raid1 Maxtor Plus 9 160G(6y160mo) 7.2 RPM
System: W2K3

Result: 74 MB ps

Also on this server we have Ultra Scsi 320 with 2*IBM10PRM Raid1
Result: 77 MB ps

Server 3: On this system I make more Test with SQL2000, I run some Query
from QA.
Maxtore Raid: 32 sec (the tempDB on this drive!)
IBM SCSI Raid: 59 sec

I test more system with 2*Raid0 with WD Raptore(10 RPM) and Sandra got only
86!

I not understand all those results:
*why WD on Server 1 give less then half of Maxtore on Server 2?
*what I get if I put WD Raptore 36 on Server2?
*what I get if I use with single Maxtore on Server2 (the raid 1 increase
Read performance?)
*what I get with 2*Raid0 Maxtore Plus 9?

And I have more Question: I read about Maxtore Plus 10 that have Queue
command. It can
Increase performance on my server 1?

And what about reliability of Maxtore drive for Date Server in Small
business?

You are using the Sandra Drive Index numbers. They are not defined anywhere
and are not an acceptable indicator of drive performance.
If you must use Sandra you should be looking at the details of the
measurement, specifically at Sequential Read and Random Read.

RAID 1 has no speed enhancing features. Same speed as a stand alone drive.

To truly compare drives they must be in the same system.

Your RAID 0 with Raptors should have a sequential read speed over 90 MB/S

There are several free HDD speed test programs on the web. HD_Speed allows
you to set the block size,

It's marginally quicker on reads.
