RAID 1 on the fly ?

Same guy, same thing, but more defined problem.

Can I reinstitute RAID 1 withought having to go to a complete reload
of the OS, apps & customiztion?
Had RAID 1 running on the ICH7 ports (also has SI 3132) & lost it.
(While chasing other issues I decided to set the BIOS to default. It
defaulted to non raid. I booted, not knowing, and nearly fainted.
Reset bios to raid, rebooted & got "blah blah missing dlls". So
continued in non-raid. Can still boot from C&D, D being just before
BIOS change

If I can implement on the fly, got some pointers please?

If not then any suggestions as to how I should backup to a hot copy?
Guess I got to buy software! Though of cloning from Acronis but it
expects you to remove the clone! MS backup any good?

thanks guys

Restitute? Do you mean resync or rebuild?

Sounds like you have a different problem here....

I think you should first fix your slang. It is quite non-standard,
and I expect largely meaningless. Then you should repost and
explain your problem.

Object: Get RAID1 up again, without having to start with blank
disks.
Situation: Explained ad nauseum.
Restitute? Do you mean resync or rebuild?

sorry, Reinstate would have been a better verb (to restore to a
previous condition) "to reinstate RAID 1 without having to ......."
Sounds like you have a different problem here....

yeh, wish I knew what was going on
Implement? Implement what?

Implement (to put into practical effect) Implement the objective.
Objective being Reinstate RAID 1 without starting from scratch.
"on the fly" you're right, redundant
Hot copy? What is that?

hot (close to a successful conclusion).
copy (duplicate)
Without RAID 1 I have an identical blank disk. How can I keep it as
current (hot) copy (duplicate) as possible? Don't mind a clone or
image solution.

Oh, I think the problem is there. You chose to be pedantic. But thanks
anyway.
