can windows XP Pro support hardware raid 1 ?

i found some article of how to hex windows system files and make windows XP
support software raid,
but i don't like that kind of ideas, i'm planning to buy a normal server
with hardware raid,
will windows XP Pro able to support it ?

Windows XP is not aware of hardware RAID. Hardware RAID happens BELOW the
OS, at the BIOS level. In fact, when you install a hardware RAID
controller, you typically configure it by hitting a key sequence at boot up
when the hardware's own BIOS displays its messages. From Windows XP's
perspective, it doesn't even know there's a RAID configuration at all, it
just sees it as a single HD. That's why hardware RAID so powerful, it will
work for any OS, it's OS independent.

If you actually meant SOFTWARE RAID, then you need to use dynamic disks,
something I discourage since its a completely different HD structure that
will make use of third party partitioning and boot management tools
incompatible.

RAID 0 and RAID 1 (mirroring the two drives),are usually found on desktop
pcs,RAID 5 and RAID 10 are found on server boards. The later, will give you
more options for the RAID array, plus less prone to hd failures.XP supports
all,a good source for info:read 307889
