Hello,

this is driving me crazy:

I have SiI 06 80 RAID controller and two HDDs hooked up, one maxtor and
the other wd, both 80GB, dynamic setting.

I am getting CRC errors most of the time. Disks are both healthy,
SMART test ok, controller says they are bout ok.
Also, some data gets lost, lets say when viewing video files...

Is this because they are not the same type?

Any suggestions please?

CRC errors are not disk errors, but interface errors. There seems
to be some problems withg the cabeling, or indeed an incompatibility
between the disks.

Where exactly are you seeing that reported ?

Sorry for a delay.

I get CRC errors every time I install something from the disk.

I don't know what to do, I just hope these two drives will not die on
me...
I have back up though...
