RAID 0+1 Failure

I have a RAID 0+1 setup (mirroring and spripping) using two matched, branded
pairs of drives. I experienced a "blue screen" event and upon rebooting my
RAID setup went from "healthy" to one "failed" and one "degraded." I know
which drive is causing the problem, since the ASUS RAID utility shows only
three drives. Since the Hitachi drive has been operating for 4 months, a
hardware failure seems like a low probability, while a read-write error is
highly likely. How do I fix this problem?
Remove the drive and reformat it? Try to correct the read-write error, but
how?

Operating system is Windows XP installed on the RAID.

Actually, since the drive has been operating for only 4 months, I would
consider the possibility of it failing pretty good.
Run Hitachi's drive diagnostic program on it, that will tell you whether
it's good or not. No sense troubleshooting if the drive is bad.
