Radeon x600 crash

Strange. Everything seems to work fine IE, media center, games etc until I
try to open a file foler or my documents foler. The system then crashes and
gives the follwoing error Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD STUCK IN
DEVICE DRIVER. Appears to be display driver as suggestions are to set
hardware acceleration to none. Problem is there appears to be no way to do
this with this chip. Running most recent beta2 driver from ati. Hoping
someone has an idea

I am in the same boat you are with my X1800 and can't find the disable
hardware acceleration ability anywhere. Now that they've changed the display
options pallet, I'm completely lost where to look for this.

Jc, turns out vista was directing my in the wrong place. I turned off
restart after reboot to further investigate the problem and it was a driver
fortrend micro pc cillin. I had done an upgrade install to vista.
Uninstalled the progam and no more crashing. Still dont have the acceleation
options though.
