radeon 9800pro display problem

I have the radeon 9800pro 128mb card and I'm using an nec-mitsubishi diamond
pro 30sb monitor. I have a problem with distorted graphics. For example,
in my CAD program, circles on the left of the screen are stretched
vertically, on the right, they are stretched horizontally. In the center,
they appear round. Also, text towards the center of the screen is not as
sharp as on the far left and right. I updated the radeon driver but it did
not help. I contacted ATI but they just sent me a bunch of useless links.

Any ideas welcome.

Are you sure this is caused by the graphics card and not by the monitor
(just asking)?
You can switch to VGA driver and check it out.

Actually, I'm not quite sure if it's the card but I am on the second
monitor. I returned the first one for the same reason. That's why I'm
investigating the possibility that it is the card.

Thanks

Just a thought. Do you have anything around you that might cause a strong
magnetic field? For example, you want to experiment by moving your computer
to another location.

Ron,

The thought did occur to me. I have an amplified sub woofer (for the pc)
but that's on the floor well below the monitor. My scanner is to the right
and always on (usb). The only other possibility is one of my stereo speaker
towers. It's about 2-1/2 feet to the right and it has an amplified sub
woofer on the bottom. I'll try pulling the plug and see what happens.

I read something in the monitor manual that I found odd. It suggests facing
the monitor to the east. It's facing southeast. I guess I'll try anything
at this point.

Thanks
Pete
